Delete Your Account

1. Delete your account from inside the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open the BuildIt AI app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Select Delete Account.
4. Confirm on the screen that follows.

Once you confirm, your account is deleted and you are signed out. The account cannot be recovered afterwards, so export anything you want to keep before you start.

2. Ask us to delete it instead

If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email us at hi@builditai.app from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my account.

We will confirm the request, delete the account, and email you when it is done. If you write from a different address we may ask you for something that shows the account is yours, so that nobody else can delete it.

3. What is deleted

Deleting your account removes the account itself and the data attached to it:

• Your profile, including name, email address, phone number if you added one, and profile photo
• The ZIP code and city or state stored with your account
• Your projects, along with their descriptions, budgets and timelines
• Photos you uploaded, and the AI designs generated from them
• Inspiration boards and saved images
• Messages you sent and received in the app
• Your push notification token, so we stop sending you notifications

4. What is kept, and for how long

A few things are not removed when you delete your account. We would rather say so plainly than imply a clean sweep:

• Aggregated and anonymised usage data. This is not tied to your account and is not removed by deleting it, because there is no longer anything in it that identifies you.
• Records the law requires us to keep. Tax and transaction records, for example, are retained for as long as applicable law requires, and then deleted.
• Subscription records held by Apple or Google. Your purchase history lives with whichever store you subscribed through. We cannot delete it, and deleting your BuildIt AI account does not cancel a subscription — see section 5.

One caveat about files, which we also state in our Privacy Policy: photo and design cleanup is best effort. A stored image can occasionally survive deletion, and because images are served over long, unguessable web addresses, a direct link to a file that survived would keep working. Files that are deleted stop resolving.

5. Cancel your subscription separately

If you have a paid BuildIt AI subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by the app store you bought through, and only that store can cancel them.

• Google Play: Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → BuildIt AI → Cancel subscription
• Apple App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → BuildIt AI → Cancel Subscription

Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.

6. Delete some of your data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove things. Individual projects, designs and photos can be deleted inside the app, and your account stays as it is.
